Here is the general rundown of what is on sale when (and when to stock up on) what exactly. (This is the time to stock up on certain things because the deals are at their general best and coupon match ups will be easier to do! Here goes:
In January:
Quaker brand cereals, Pepsi and Pepsi/ Tostino brands. ( I hear you can find alot of rebates as well.) Chilis, and things for heavy or warm meals. White sales are usually going on now, sports and weight loss things, computers, winter clothing and anything to organize your home. (People are cold and therefore stuck inside, so they want to organize/ clean after the holiday madness.)
Look for post holiday wrapping paper and items for next year. (Superbowl!)
In February:
Food wise, it's about the same as January, but you can find deals on electronics, floor coverings, household stuff, furniture and candy. (Valentine's Day, still cold outside...)
In March:
Ok, this is supposedly frozen food month. Many stores offer deals on freezers. Between this month and next, look for deals on things for Spring Cleaning. Since it's also Easter time, you'll find deals on eggs, hams, Kraft products, paper towels, napkins and plates, beverages.
Also look for clothing deals, winter sporting equipment, gardening supplies, and luggage. (Spring Break....)
In April:
Look for Spring clothing, coats and things go on sale, paint and supplies as well as wall coverings, and Passover foods. Frozen pizzas.
In May:
Ok....since summer is around the corner, look for deals on BBQ Sauces and condiments, frozen veggies (since gardens are around the corner), baked beans, meats such as ribs, hot dogs and ground beef. Look for post holiday paper items to stock up for next year. A Lot of white sales, spring cleaning supplies, and deals on car care. Home repairs and maintenance, too. Look for deals on coke/ pepsi, bottled water, hot dogs and hamburger meats, condiments and plastic dinnerwares. Bug repellents and sun screens also are on sale now.
In June:
Summer clothes, pianos, tv's, building materials and dairy products.
In July:
Air conditioners, summer sporting equipment, sportswear, craft supplies, and the same food items as the previous month.
In August:
White sales (again but this time linen and towels), BBQ and patio equipment, Back to school supplies, bathing suits, fresh fish and veggies, breakfast foods, items for lunch boxes.
In September:
(Back to school time!) Snacks!!! Pudding cups, capri suns, fruit snacks, cereals (big time), PB & J items, Prego also reportedly has great coupons about now (although they expire before next month because in October the spaghetti sauces will be on sale a good bit and apparently there is a war between Ragu adn Prego about this time every year.) Campbell's soups and lunchables.
Back to school anything, gardening supplies and housewares, bikes, and canned goods are on sale around this time. Frozen pizzas.
In October:
Stock up on all things holiday. Stuffing mix, turkey, instant potatoes, pudding, broth and cranberries, ice creams, marshmallows, pie crusts, crackers and whipped toppings. Kraft reportedly has great deals around this time, (ie: buy this get this free). Save some of your coupons for later on, though, because after Christmas food will be at a big discount! Green beans, french's fried onions, broth, etc., will be on big discount! Cars, houses, fishing equipment, glassware and crystal, candy (Halloween!) and baking/ candy making things.
In November:
Winter clothing, quilts, and heaters are on sale. Turkey, yams/ sweet potatoes, canned goods (soups, condensed and evap milk, veggies) and baking goods.
Finally, In December:
Toys! (Duh.) Gift items, party items and foods, post holiday items, meats, canned goods.
Don't forget that after holidays (year-round) you can find post holiday foods and cookie doughs on sale. Candy, popcorn, chips and snacky things you can usually find deals on all year, although moreso in the fall or winter. Frozen foods stay centralized to a certain brand then switch to another.
I hope this helps with your shopping and being able to stock up so that when the sales are gone you have a supply to last until the next sale on that item.
(Thanks, also to Hot Coupon World for the advice!)
